Le Petit Monde Privacy Policy

Le Petit Monde takes security and data protection seriously. If you choose to engage with us, we believe that you should know exactly where that information goes and how it is processed. We hope that we clearly state this in our privacy policy. However, if you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to contact us at:

Also, do email us if you require this policy in a different format.

This privacy policy sets out how Le Petit Monde uses and protects any information that you give to us when you:

  • Browse this website
  • Fill-out a feedback form either before or after one of our shows or workshops
  • Sign-up for our newsletter
  • When you send us an enquiry via our direct email address for bookings and requests

This policy exists because we respect your privacy. We have implemented procedures to ensure that your personal information is handled in a safe, secure and responsible manner. Should we ask you to provide any information when completing any of the above by which you could be identified, be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy policy and in line with the General Data Protection Regulations 2018.

We have put together answers to some frequently asked questions here:

What is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and how does it affect me?

This legislation replaces the previous data privacy law, giving more rights to you as an individual and place more obligations on organisations holding your personal data, in this case, Le Petit Monde. This means that when you interact with organisations online, you have rights with regards to how we use and hold your information. This includes:

  • The right to be informed (i.e. via this privacy policy)
  • The rights to access, change or delete the personal information that we hold about you
  • The right to stop receiving direct mailings or email marketing

For more information on how to exercise these rights, please scroll down to: ‘How do I exercise the rights to my data being used?’

What information does Le Petit Monde collect and why?

Predominantly, we use your data information for marketing purposes, unless we have been in contact with each other over direct email. We use the information we collect for a range of reasons, including:

  • To provide, operate and maintain regular newsletters
  • To analyse how you use our website for trend monitoring and marketing purposes
  • For the purposes made clear to you at the time you submit your information
  • As part of our efforts to keep our website safe and secure

Here is a breakdown of where and how we use your data, including information about any third parties we use to manage your data on our behalf.

We use a third-party provider, Mailchimp, to deliver our regular newsletters. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our newsletters. You can opt-out anytime by clicking ‘unsubscribe’ on any of our newsletters. For more information, please see Mailchimp’s privacy policy.

Social Media:
We use third party providers, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and occasionally Hootsuite to send, schedule and track our social media transaction with our audiences. For more information, please see Facebook’s privacy notice, Twitter’s privacy notice, Instagram’s privacy notice and Hootsuite privacy notice.

Google Analytics
When you visit Le Petit Monde website, we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make and do not allow Google to make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Photography & Videography:
We sometimes hire professional, freelance photographers or videographers to capture our live theatre productions and always make sure that if children are showing on camera or film, they cannot be recognised.

Photographs may be taken during workshops held in various venues.

  • We always check the venue’s photography policy and adhere to it. For instance, if parents have previously signed a permission form allowing their photograph to be taken during the workshop, this will be done on the venue staff camera and not ours.
  • If no previous written agreement has been made, no photographs will be taken of the participants. Le Petit Monde may take photographs of the work made only.
  • If Le Petit Monde is in charge of the photography policy, we will always ask you to sign an agreement prior to taking photographs of yourself or your children. We will also seek appropriate written permission for the use of these images and inform you every step of the way.

We use the documentation to create promotional material and to improve on our delivery of activities when possible. The material may be shared in our newsletters, on our website and social media pages.

We will only share the material with third parties (Social Media, Mailchimp) and through our newsletters with your approval.

If we have used an image of you, or shared a video that you have not approved, please alert us as soon as possible so we can either seek appropriate approval and/or remove the image online and offline.

Direct email:
When you contact us directly, we use data provided by you on your email – name, email and phone number – to get in touch with you for the legitimate interest of our projects. We use a third party provider, Gmail, to run our emails.

For more information, please see Gmail Privacy Policy.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you are under 16, please do not attempt to send any personal information about yourself to us. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that a child may have provided us with personal information, please contact us at:

Children’s Health & Safety forms:

When signing up to a Le Petit Monde workshop, through a venue or through us directly, you will be asked as a parent to sign a form explaining any health issues (such as allergies) or special requirements you child may need.

Emergency contact details may be required too.

This is so we can provide to your children’s needs during the workshop and contact you directly if needed.
Tania keeps hold of these paper forms for the duration of the workshop and securely destroys them once the workshop is over.

Children Health & Safety forms will not be required if the workshop is for both parents and children.
