“My daughter has been obsessed with the book and speaking French ever since we bought it!”

Lapin is Hungry

Tiptoe into French language with Lapin and his garden friends wherever you are.

Le Petit Monde is proud to present Lapin is Hungry, a unique bilingual picture book. Because it has been created especially for non-French speakers, it acts as a gentle and fun introduction to French language and culture.

Clever use of the two languages also makes it an engaging and accessible first step in teaching children a new language.

Lapin is Hungry is a pilot picture book which Tania and Olivier were able to get printed in 2017, thanks to a crowdfunding campaign. They are now looking for a suitable publisher to create a series of Lapin adventures. Imaginative teaching packs could also accompany the stories, making learning playful and creative.

“Lapin is hungry. Very hungry. But what does he want to eat? Join Tania and her Parisian friends in this charming bilingual quest to find the perfect food for a little rabbit. You can also learn a few French words on the way!”

Glossary of words

‘As someone who has researched children from a wide range of linguistic backgrounds interacting with text in two languages, I very much welcome this innovative and engaging approach to the introduction of a new language.’
(Dr Raymonde Sneddon, University of East London Author of Bilingual Books – Biliterate Children)

‘The story line was easily accessible to my Early Years pupils who enjoyed the experience immensely. I really hope Tania will produce a series of adventures for Lapin and would definitely use the books in my teaching.’
(Fiona McDiarmid – French teacher, Glasgow Academy)
